Depict your home as a quilted piece of art!

Months after Essay Hall’s family lost their home in the Eaton fire, they found solace in creating a quilted tapestry depicting their lost home. In this 3-part workshop, they will share with you how to create your own (simplified) version! Whether you lost your home in the Eaton fire or not, crafting an art piece depicting your home is a beautiful process of honoring the shelter you call (or called) home. 

Over the course of 3 sessions, we will go through the entire process of creating your very own house quilt block. Join us to:

+Learn how to draft and sew super-detailed Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) patterns.

+Sew up your custom FPP pattern of your house

+Finalize your piece with foliage and other details using embroidery techniques.

You’ll leave the workshop with a fabulous art piece of your home, and a base knowledge of FPP quilting!

WHEN: The 3-part workshop will take place at 6pm on Saturdays, October 10, 17, and 24

COST: Free!

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Basic sewing. Like suuuper basic. If you can sew a straight stitch on a machine, you are good!

MATERIALS: Provided by Remainders!

Priority will be given to folks who lost their homes in the fire, but everybody is encouraged to sign up! If there is enough demand, we may add future workshops.
